Advancing Chronic Disease Health Disparities Research: The RCMI at UH strengthens the University’s research infrastructure and capacity to advance rigorous, high-impact research on chronic diseases and their determinants. The RCMI at UH provides investigators with access to research expertise, resources, services, and collaborative opportunities that support scientific discovery and the development of competitive research programs.

Through an interdisciplinary community of established, extramurally funded investigators, the RCMI at UH fosters collaboration across the biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and population health sciences. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting early-career investigators by providing the scientific environment, methodological expertise, and research infrastructure needed to strengthen their research capabilities and advance their careers.

Together, these efforts accelerate scientific discovery, strengthen the quality and rigor of research at UH, and generate knowledge that can improve health and quality of life across populations.
